Day 1: 3 on 3 Regimen

I have been asked the question, when did my sister and I start the 30 day challenge, we were already into it May 14th, but I was late in posting the video.  However, we are just rolling along and trying to get my sister down to her goal weight before she leaves, June 14th.  We have less than 30 days to get her to 60lbs so as I watched the basketball game last night I came up with 3 on 3.

  • 3 DAYS....3 Exercises (MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY)
  • LOW CARB/HIGH PROTEIN DIET

Remember to Follow the Instagram & MyFitnessPal to get the details of what we do and what we eat. It is all laid out for you.

Just posting what we are doing to get in shape. I have a Miami trip to get in shape for and want to be so fly when I head out.  I have some ish they don't tell you, remember to follow my Instagram and my Fitnesspal because I list and take a picture of the foods I eat throughout the day.  I am just giving you a peak into the 3 on 3 and the madness we go through in the insanity workout. If you cannot workout to this capacity, don't worry.  I would try the link I provided for you on the blog that gives you a 15 minute work out, courtesy of Dr. Oz and Shaun T.

I will not post like this daily, so in order to know what I am eating it's important that you are following the two. This way you see and understand what I am eating so you do not have the ask the questions in the comments.  It's better to see pictures and read, this way you can copy my food regimen directly from my fitness pal.

I did not sugar coat this video...WE SUFFER through Insanity. So don't feel as if you need to be a machine.

AmbitiousRed25 Update: My sister weighed herself after insanity:  She weighs 174.8 which is down from 179.  She weighed herself of that a few days ago.

She takes pictures of the scale on her Instagram.

She is losing weight, while I am gaining muscle. I have been weight training and doing Insanity longer than her. So this builds and tones.  You trim and slim down, but the muscle you build is heavier than the fat you lose.

I also take a pic of the things I listen to while I work out (INSTAGRAM FOLKS)

Trichotillosis; Compulsive hair pulling

Trichotillomania is hair loss from repeated urges to pull or twist the hair until it breaks off. Patients are unable to stop this behavior, even as their hair becomes thinner.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

Trichotillomania is a type of impulsive control disorder. Its causes are not clearly understood.
It may affect as much as 4% of the population. Women are four times more likely to be affected than men.

Symptoms

Symptoms usually begin before age 17. The hair may come out in round patches or across the scalp. The effect is an uneven appearance. The person may pluck other hairy areas, such as the eyebrows, eyelashes, or body hair.
These symptoms are usually seen in children:
  • An uneven appearance to the hair
  • Bare patches or all around (diffuse) loss of hair
  • Bowel blockage (obstruction) if people eat the hair they pull out
  • Constant tugging, pulling, or twisting of hair
  • Denying the hair pulling
  • Hair regrowth that feels like stubble in the bare spots
  • Increasing sense of tension before the hair pulling
  • Other self-injury behaviors
  • Sense of relief, pleasure, or gratification after the hair pulling
Most people with this disorder also have problems with:
  • Feeling sad or depressed
  • Anxiety
  • Poor self image

Signs and tests

Your health care provider will examine your skin, hair, and scalp. A piece of tissue may be removed (biopsy) to find other causes, such as a scalp infection, and to explain the hair loss.

Treatment

Experts don't agree on the use of medication for treatment. However, naltrexone and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have been shown effective in reducing some symptoms. Behavioral therapy and habit reversal may also be effective.

Expectations (prognosis)

Trichotillomania that begins in younger children (less than 6 years old) may go away without treatment. For most people, the hair pulling ends within 12 months.
For others, trichotillomania is a lifelong disorder. However, treatment often improves the hair pulling and the feelings of depression, anxiety, or poor self image.

Complications

People can have complications when they eat the pulled-out hair (trichophagia). This can cause a blockage in the intestines or lead to poor nutrition.

Prevention

Early detection is the best form of prevention because it leads to early treatment. Decreasing stress can help, because stress may increase compulsive behavior.

In Memory of Jody - My Cause Has A Name

It took me a minute to mourn and pray and once I was still enough, I got the clarity I needed to carry on and continue to help my community.  My Company is New Harlem Image and Arts Consulting, LLC and keeping with that our philanthropic goal is centered around those afflicted with sickness and troubles that affect image.  Since I have supported Breast Cancer, Leukemia, Sickle Cell and others, I decided to pull it together and give my cause a name:

The "Phoenix Rae Project" (PRP)

The Blog Sale will commence now that I have a purpose. In the next few days I will post wigs for sale and as my video states it will go for a cause and to remember a fallen sister and subscriber.  Now that you know her name, celebrate it - do not tarnish it. She was a wonderful soul who touched mine clear across the country.  If we could all be so kind, the world would be a better place.
